Andrew Breitbart Hacks Anthony Weiner Conference

In an unlikely and extremely entertaining twist, Andrew Breitbart took the podium at a press conference scheduled by Congressman Anthony Weiner in New York City. Breitbart discussed the circumstances surrounding the Weinergate scandal, which was broken on Big Government and Big Journalism. He also challenged the media to name one lie he has told or reported; there was no discernible response from the crowd of Manhattan journalists.

Breitbart told a Fox News reporter, “of course this wasn’t a set up… I went to the podium because a gaggle of press people asked me.” Breitbart went on to say “Congressman Weiner made much of last week about trying to blame me…I felt I needed to set the record straight.”

I love Andrew Breitbart, like a Viking.

Mars Melt Hints at Solar, Not Human, Cause for Warming, Scientist Says

Hints ? Hints ?
No, it must be all the huge amounts of greenhouse gases we're pumping into the Martian atmosphere.

Simultaneous warming on Earth and Mars suggests that our planet's recent climate changes have a natural—and not a human-induced—cause, according to one scientist's controversial theory.

Again, suggests ? Controversial theory ? Now why would it be a controversial theory ? Huh.

Earth is currently experiencing rapid warming, which the vast majority of climate scientists says is due to humans pumping huge amounts of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere.

Rapid warming ? I guess that would explain that Ice Storm we had here last month. You know, the one that knocked out power and heat for a week ? The vast majority of climate scientists ? Since when did science work on concensious ? Oh right, when the Enviromentalist Whackos, Communists, Dumbocrats and misc other Liberal nut-jobs decided so.

Habibullo Abdussamatov, head of the St. Petersburg's Pulkovo Astronomical Observatory in Russia, says the Mars data is evidence that the current global warming on Earth is being caused by changes in the sun.

"The long-term increase in solar irradiance is heating both Earth and Mars," he said.

Solar Cycles

Abdussamatov believes that changes in the sun's heat output can account for almost all the climate changes we see on both planets.

Mars and Earth, for instance, have experienced periodic ice ages throughout their histories.

"Man-made greenhouse warming has made a small contribution to the warming seen on Earth in recent years, but it cannot compete with the increase in solar irradiance," Abdussamatov said.

By studying fluctuations in the warmth of the sun, Abdussamatov believes he can see a pattern that fits with the ups and downs in climate we see on Earth and Mars.

Abdussamatov's work, however, has not been well received by other climate scientists.

Well that's a shocker. Without the Global Warming Boogy-man, they're out of funding and a job.

"His views are completely at odds with the mainstream scientific opinion," said Colin Wilson, a planetary physicist at England's Oxford University.

You'll notice he said "His views are completely at odds with the mainstream scientific opinion. Opinion is not fact. Opinion is not science.

"And they contradict the extensive evidence presented in the most recent IPCC [Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change] report." (Related: "Global Warming 'Very Likely' Caused by Humans, World Climate Experts Say" [February 2, 2007].)

Evidence ? The title of the reference they use says 'Very Likely', as in not proven, not factual, in other words an opinion.

Amato Evan, a climate scientist at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, added that "the idea just isn't supported by the theory or by the observations."

Planets' Wobbles

The conventional theory is that climate changes on Mars can be explained primarily by small alterations in the planet's orbit and tilt, not by changes in the sun.

Planets' wobble but they don't fall down.

"Wobbles in the orbit of Mars are the main cause of its climate change in the current era," Oxford's Wilson explained. (Related: "Don't Blame Sun for Global Warming, Study Says" [September 13, 2006].)

All planets experience a few wobbles as they make their journey around the sun. Earth's wobbles are known as Milankovitch cycles and occur on time scales of between 20,000 and 100,000 years.

These fluctuations change the tilt of Earth's axis and its distance from the sun and are thought to be responsible for the waxing and waning of ice ages on Earth.

Mars and Earth wobble in different ways, and most scientists think it is pure coincidence that both planets are between ice ages right now.

"Mars has no [large] moon, which makes its wobbles much larger, and hence the swings in climate are greater too," Wilson said.

Most scientists think it is pure coincidence. Again an opinion. Not science.

Perhaps the biggest stumbling block in Abdussamatov's theory is his dismissal of the greenhouse effect, in which atmospheric gases such as carbon dioxide help keep heat trapped near the planet's surface.

He claims that carbon dioxide has only a small influence on Earth's climate and virtually no influence on Mars.

But "without the greenhouse effect there would be very little, if any, life on Earth, since our planet would pretty much be a big ball of ice," said Evan, of the University of Wisconsin.

Most scientists now fear that the massive amount of carbon dioxide humans are pumping into the air will lead to a catastrophic rise in Earth's temperatures, dramatically raising sea levels as glaciers melt and leading to extreme weather worldwide.

Abdussamatov remains contrarian, however, suggesting that the sun holds something quite different in store.

"The solar irradiance began to drop in the 1990s, and a minimum will be reached by approximately 2040," Abdussamatov said. "It will cause a steep cooling of the climate on Earth in 15 to 20 years."

Hezbollah Warns U.S. It May Change It's Peaceful Ways

BEIRUT, Lebanon (AP) - The deputy chief of Hezbollah warned Tuesday that any "military adventure" by the United States and Israel against Iran would have dangerous consequences across the Mideast.

Sheik Naim Kassem suggested his pro-Iranian (and funded/supplied by Iran) group would not get involved if the U.S. attacks Iran, but he raised the possibility that Israel might attack Lebanon as part of such an assault - in which case, he said, Hezbollah would "definitely" respond.

No doubt by bravley launching missiles at civilian targets from within Lebanese "schools" again.

He said Hezbollah guerrillas were making plans in case Israel, like last summer, attacks Lebanon again.

Well ya know ass hat, if you hadn't kidnaped Israeli soldiers, Israel wouldn't have invaded.

"The resistance is taking all the necessary measures to be ready and prepared," Kassem said in an interview with the Associated (with terrorists) Press. He would not elaborate but said Hezbollah is constantly changing its fighting tactics so the Israelis would not know its capabilities.

Try fighting the Israeli army like men instead of hiding behind Lebanese civilians while attacking Israeli civilians. I'm sure Israel will never expect that tactic from brave Muslims.

We've evaluated the experience of the war and learned lessons from it and are taking steps to accommodate them with new realities," he said. "We are making sure the enemy will be in the dark in the future. This is the strength of the resistance and the secret of its success."

The biggest success they had last time was in enlisting the eager aid of the main stream media. Reading most accounts from the MSM you'd have thought Israel attacked unprovoked and that they were targeting civilians. You heard nary a word about Hezbollah indiscriminately lobbing missiles at civilians in Israel unless you watched Fox News.

The United States insists it is not planning to attack Iran and is trying to persuade Tehran to suspend uranium enrichment, as demanded by the United Nations. But fear of a strike is growing throughout the Middle East.

Fear of a strike should be growing in the Middle East. Iran is courting a dragon.

Kassem, a Shiite Muslim cleric (and terrorist), warned that an assault on Iran could expand across the region.

Huh. That's weird. I'm agreeing with a terrorist. Weird feeling. Fortunately it looks like a few Muslim countries are lining up on our side.

"It remains to be seen what the level of an American aggression on Iran would be," he said. "Is it going to be limited or an all-out war? Will other countries become involved? Will it spread to the entire region?"

It will undoubtedly spread, but American aggression ? Iran is ran by people that have repeatedly declared they seek the destruction of Israel and the US. They also believe that causing chaos will hasten the return of the Twelfth Imam. I'm hoping for an all-out war to ensure Iran's insane ideology never results in nuclear war.

Asked if the U.S. attacked Iran, Hezbollah would retaliate by striking Israel, Kassem said Iran is capable of defending itself because it "possesses the means, a tenacious populace and a wise leadership."

Wise leadership ? The terrorist cracks a joke !
But yeah, they've got missiles that can hit Israel, no missiles that can hit us, so sure ! They would attack Israel.

Iran has threatened to attack the hundreds of thousands of U.S. forces based in the Persian Gulf and in Iraq if America launches a strike.

Like they'd get the chance.

Kassem warned, "we will definitely respond and defend ourselves" if Israel attacks Lebanon.

What is this crap about Israel attacking Lebanon ? What does that have to do with Iran making nukes ? What does that have to do with us or Israel attacking Iran ?

Kassem's comments aimed to counter speculation that Hezbollah may stir up trouble in the region - including attacking Israel - if Iran is attacked: "They have to know that any military adventure, if widened and involves several countries in the region, would have dangerous consequences for everyone."

So earlier in the interview he says they won't attack Israel if Israel or the US attacks Iran, then implies they will ? Muslim pretzel logic ! From this mealy-mouthed interview the AP get the headline "Hezbollah Warns U.S. Against Iran Attack" ?

In Lebanon, Hezbollah has been locked in a power-struggle for months with the U.S.-backed government of Prime Minister Fuad Saniora. The Shiite group and its allies are demanding a new government in which they would have greater power. Washington has dramatically beefed up support for Saniora, who has rejected the opposition's demands.

The government of Prime Minister Fuad Saniora is also backed by the people of Lebanon. A detail to insignificant for the AP. Hezbollah is a terrorist group consisting of Syrians, Iranians and Islamic scum from throughout the Middle East funded and supplied by Syria and Iran.

Kassem blamed the United States for the deadlock, saying it is pressuring Saniora to refuse a compromise. Washington's goal is to undermine Hezbollah's resistance against Israel, he said.

Compromise ? Hezbollah's goal is the destruction of Israel. How can there be a compromise ? Resistance against Israel ? Hezbollah has initiated every conflict with Israel. By Resistance does the AP mean Hezbollah is resisting Israeli self defense ?

Kassem, who is the deputy of Hezbollah's charismatic leader, Sheik Hassan Nasrallah, dismissed Lebanese and American government charges that Hezbollah was a tool of Iran and Syria. In contrast, he said, "the (Saniora) government is directly dictated by the Americans."

Yeah, Syria has a long history of non-interference in what was once the "Switzerland of the Middle East". That terrorist, he's so funny he's killing me !

Five Western States To Cripple Their Economies On The Sacred Cow Of Global Warming

Five Western U.S. states have formed the latest regional pact that bypasses the Bush administration to cut emissions linked to the junk science of global warming through market mechanisms (government regulations, fines and taxes) thereby forcing businesses to flee to other states, according to Oregon's governor. Oregon, California, Washington, New Mexico and Arizona have agreed to develop a regional target for committing economic suicide in six months, according a statement from Oregon Gov. Ted Kulongoski.

During the next 18 months, the governors will devise a market-based program (government regulations, fines and taxes) , such as a load-based cap and trade program (tax and fine businesses that use power out of existence) to reach the target. The five states also have agreed to participate in a multi-state registry to track and manage greenhouse gas emissions in their region. The Western Regional Climate Action Initiative comes on the heels of an agreement in the East called the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative To Kill The Economy that is also based on junk science and is economic suicide.

So the coasts want to commit suicide. Will you miss them ? Really ?

"With the Western states you've got a huge (soon to be diminishing) part of the U.S. economy that are beginning to regulate greenhouse gases (even though the "science" is disputed, we're going to throw our citizens under the bus to be politically correct)," said Jeremiah Baumann, an advocate with the Oregon State Public Interest In Less Jobs Research Group.

California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger recently passed the country's toughest greenhouse emissions laws which aim to reduce the state's economy-wide output of the gases by 25 percent by 2020. The California economy is expected to crash by 25 to 50 percent by 2010 under the weight of this legislation and the stupid healthcare initiative.

Monday's agreement "sets the stage for a regional cap and trade program, which will provide a powerful framework for developing a national cap and trade program that will be sure to plummet the economic outlook for the entire region," Schwarzenegger said in a statement on Monday. "This agreement shows the power of states to lead our nation addressing climate change (which has not been proven) and leading the way for high unemployment rates with no discernable impact on the environment."

The other states in the Western pact have also passed greenhouse gas and employment reduction initiatives of their own. The regional pact would allow the states to use market mechanisms (state mandated, not market driven) more efficiently (tax tax tax) to reduce output of the gases, said Baumann.

The United States initiated cap and trade programs on pollutants such as acid rain components in the early 1990s. Still wasn't enough for them.

In such markets for greenhouse gases, companies can offset their emissions by investing in clean projects like solar and wind power, or earn credits that they can sell for cutting their emissions at their factories, or move elsewhere.

In 2005, the European Union formed a cap and trade program to meet its countries' obligations under the Kyoto Protocol, which countries such as China and India are exempt from. Unlike developed countries that ratified Kyoto, the United States does not regulate carbon dioxide or other greenhouse gases. This is an outright lie. The EPA regulates all pollutants. President George W. Bush withdrew from the international pact early in his first term, saying it would hurt the economy and unfairly leave rapidly developing countries without emissions limits in its first phase. This is a deliberate misrepresentation of the facts. He didn't withdraw from Kyoto, Congress must ratify all treaties before the President can do anything. The President can not sign any treaty without congress's approval. Bill Clinton didn't sign Kyoto either for the same reason. Funny how that fact is always ignored.

Greenhouse pacts on both coasts could send a message to smokestack and transportation businesses and encourage them to lobby for a national greenhouse plan, rather than face patchwork local regulations, Baumann said. Or they could just move avoiding stupid regulations that have no scientific merit.

Like California's recent laws, the Western pact also seeks to regulate imports of electricity from dirty coal-burning power plants from surrounding states outside of the agreement. Thereby ensuring that their citizens have to pay more for power no matter where it comes from.

The seven states in the Eastern suicide regional pact, which include New York and Massachusetts, aim to cut carbon dioxide emissions at power plants by 10 percent by 2019 and economic growth by more than twice that in half the time.

Who is going to say they are for carbon dioxide emissions ?

Besides the underground laboratories with prisons for human testing of bioweapons as well as vials of bioweapons that were found which were of a type that could be surge produced, the objective facts about Saddam's WMDs are there for anyone to research.

What is most interesting to me is when there is an opportunity to study how the Old Press supports its templates regardless of facts as in the case of the report written by the weapons inspector David Kay. The text of his report is available to anyone who knows to look for it. Yet in the Old Press there are thousands of headlines and reporting that read like this: Kay: No weapons yet, but evidence of intent. That's not what he said, simply read it for yourself to see. This is why blogging and other forms of New Media are undercutting the Old Press. It's simple really, they are lying. The Old Press lied and people died and continue to as terrorists work to manipulate journalists and journalists use their standard of if it bleeds it leads. What is truly amazing is how they sometimes snivel that the New Media has no accountability. As opposed to what? As if their form of accountability to liberal editors, ratings or money leads them to write stories closer to the truth?

Time For Heroes ?

"Heroes Abroad, Unknown At Home" - In today's New York Times David Brooks (a conservative columnist) describes the heroics of Marines in combat in Iraq, then bemoans the fact that Americans aren't getting the hero stories from the frontlines. He blames Americans.

Second, why aren't there more stories about war heroes like Christopher Ieva? The casual courage he and his men displayed is awe-inspiring, but most Americans couldn't name a single hero from this war. That's because despite all the amazing things people are achieving in Iraq, we don't tell their stories back here. That's partly because in the post-Vietnam era many Americans - especially those who dominate the culture - are uncomfortable with military valor. That's partly because some people don't want this war to seem like a heroic enterprise. And it's partly because many Americans are aloof from this whole conflict, and couldn't tell you a thing about Operations Matador and Steel Curtain and the other major offensives.

And whose fault is that ? Our "press" doesn't tell us these things. It's not "Stupid Americans", it's "Stupid American Press".

Readers might be a bit confused if they recall the similar New York Times story from August bemoaning the fact that there are no hero stories from the Iraq war. But the difference between it and this latest version is that in the earlier example the Times blamed the Pentagon for their lack of heroes.

Bruce Willis To Make Pro-War Movie

ANGERED by negative portrayals of the conflict in Iraq, Bruce Willis, the Hollywood star, is to make a pro-war film in which American soldiers will be depicted as brave fighters for freedom and democracy.

It will be based on the exploits of the heavily decorated members of Deuce Four, the 1st Battalion, 24th Infantry, which has spent the past year battling insurgents in the northern Iraqi town of Mosul.

Willis attended Deuce Four’s homecoming ball this month in Seattle, Washington, where the soldiers are on leave, along with Stephen Eads, the producer of Armageddon and The Sixth Sense.

The 50-year-old actor said that he was in talks about a film of “these guys who do what they are asked to for very little money to defend and fight for what they consider to be freedom”.

Unlike many Hollywood stars Willis supports the war and recently offered a $1m (about £583,000) bounty for the capture of any of Al-Qaeda’s most wanted leaders such as Osama Bin Laden, Ayman Al-Zawahiri or Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, its commander in Iraq. Willis visited the war zone with his rock and blues band, the Accelerators, in 2003.

“I am baffled to understand why the things I saw happening in Iraq are not being reported,” he told MSNBC, the American news channel.

He is expected to base the film on the writings of the independent blogger Michael Yon, a former special forces green beret who was embedded with Deuce Four and sent regular dispatches about their heroics. Yon was at the soldiers’ ball with Willis, who got to know him through his internet war reports on http://www.michaelyon.blogspot.com/. “What he is doing is something the American media and maybe the world media isn’t doing,” the actor said, “and that’s telling the truth about what’s happening in the war in Iraq.”

I don't go to movies very often these days, but I will be there standing in line opening night for this one. Thank you Bruce !

Bruce Willis comes out fighting for Iraq’s forgotten GI heroes

Willis is likely to take on the role of the unit’s commander, Lieutenant-Colonel Erik Kurilla, 39, a Bruce Willis lookalike with a chest full of medals, more hair than Willis and a glamorous blonde wife.

He was injured in August after being shot three times by insurgents “in front of my eyes”, Yon recorded in his blog: “He continued to direct his men until a medic gave him morphine and the men took him away.”

Kurilla now has a titanium plate in his leg. He met Willis at the ball and said that his men were “very excited and appreciative that he was there”.

When the battalion arrived in Mosul in November last year the city was under threat from insurgents. “We faced very heavy fighting for about three months,” Kurilla recalled. “Every patrol was making contact with enemy forces. We would hit them where they slept, where they worked and where they ate.”

Today the picture was very different, he said. “I have watched a city that was in absolute chaos turn into one that has a viable Iraqi security force, which is taking the lead in fighting the terrorists.”

Yon, 41, went to Iraq after a friend from high school, Scott Helveston, a former navy Seal, was hanged from a bridge in Falluja in an incident that shocked the world. Yon had never blogged before but was the author of Danger Close, a book about his experience as a green beret when he killed a man in a bar-room brawl. He was charged with murder and acquitted on the grounds of self-defence.

Expect the MSM to put him through the same crap they put Mel Gibson through.

After my return from Iraq I received phone calls and emails from military friends as they either came back to the US on leave or finished their tours and re-deployed “Stateside.” The typical phone call went like this: “I’m back. It’s great to be home. What’s up? How are you doing?” Then, the conversation quickly moved on to: “What’s with the press and Iraq?” The press usually meant television. On tv Iraq looked like it was going to Hell in a handbasket of flame and brutality; however, the images of carnage didn’t square with the troops’ experience.

Remember this quote: First, there is definitely a terrorism problem. Not an insurgency, not a guerilla war, not a resistance. That is the ground truth in Iraq.

I am sick of the media constantly telling us that this is another Vietnam and that we are in a quagmire. They are lying to us. They want the terrorists to win. Austin Bay Blog gives us a way to fight the disinformation they shove down our throats every day.

al-Zarqawi Toast ?

The Elaph Arab media website reported on Sunday that Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, the head of the al-Qaida in Iraq terror group, may have been killed in Iraq on Sunday afternoon when eight terrorists blew themselves up in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul.
The unconfirmed report claimed that the explosions occurred while coalition forces surrounded the house in which al-Zarqawi was hiding. American and Iraqi forces are looking into the report.

Al-Zarqawi Rumored Killed

There are rumors circulating in the Middle East concerning the possible death of Abu Musab al-Zarqawi. The rumors originated with Arab television, were picked up by the Jerusalem Post and now are alive in several venues.

What is known is that the United States attacked a location in Mosul in which eight individuals were reported killed and burned beyond recognition. It would appear that the attack was triggered by some intelligence and that the intelligence held open the possibility that the command cell of al Qaeda in Iraq was there. The attack either blew up the site or the team committed suicide.

It is interesting that the attack came on the heels of Jordan's intense attack on jihadists within its borders and on anyone linked to al-Zarqawi. This followed the bombings of three hotels in Amman. Today, for example, al-Zarqawi's own family in Jordan condemned him. Jordanian security has lashed out in all directions after that attack. It is speculative -- but not unreasonable -- to assume that the Jordanians, during their crackdown, secured intelligence on the location of al-Zarqawi's command cell.

Al-Zarqawi's Family Denounces Him And Voices Support For Jordanian King

Family members of al-Qaida in Iraq chief Abu Musab al-Zarqawi say it'll be "doomsday" before they have anything more to do with him.

The Jordanian-born terror leader claims responsibility for the deadly, November ninth hotel bombings in Jordan that killed 59 people.

His family renounced him today, telling Jordan's King Abdullah that they will "sever links with him until doomsday."

The statement said anyone who carried out such violence in the kingdom does not enjoy its protection.

It's a serious blow to al-Zarqawi, who will no longer enjoy the protection of his tribe.

I hope this is true. If it is, this is a great milestone in the war against Dhimmitude.


US hopes al-Zarqawi died in gunfight

US forces have sealed off a house in the northern city of Mosul where eight suspected al-Qaeda members died in a gunfight - some by their own hand to avoid capture.

A US official said that efforts were under way to determine if terror leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi was among the dead.

Three insurgents detonated explosives and killed themselves to avoid capture, Iraqi officials said. Eleven Americans were wounded, according to the US military.

Like so many reports from the MSM, this one was peppered with statistics of how many Americans have been killed in Iraq, how many people died this weekend, we torture terrorists, blah blah blah. They can not even report on the good news without twisting it into bad news. Freedom bad, Dhimmitude good. They are practically rooting for the terrorists. It's amazing that these asshat reporters still feel that they're unbiased.

Ex-cellmate says al-Zarqawi was tortured

Good. I hope it was excruciating.

Offering possible partial clues as to why the Jordanian-born al-Qaida leader chose Amman for triple hotel bombings earlier this month, the former cellmate, Yousef Rababaa, said: "He hated the intelligence services intensely, and the authorities didn't know how to deal with his new ideology."

New ideology ? Mohammad practiced terrorism ! This is not a new ideology.

Rababaa, who spent three years in jail with al-Zarqawi until both were freed under a royal amnesty in 1999, recalled his cellmate's inflexible, radical Islamic ideology.

See what appeasement and tolerance gets you ? They have declared war ! Any gesture of goodwill is seen by them as weakness.

"He divided the world between Muslim and infidels," Rababaa said, adding that al-Zarqawi was quiet at the time and did not show a violent nature.

The Koran divides the world that way. It also instructs Muslims to not show the infidels (us) their true nature until ready to strike.

"I didn't see that side of him, although he had very strong opinions. I am very surprised at where he is today," said Rababaa, suggesting that maybe someone helps al-Zarqawi plan his terror operations.

Grotesque Non-Reporting

If the president were to call for two plus two to equal four, the media would report that such a proposal had the support of only 42 percent of likely voters, and a slippage of even conservative support from 87 percent to 63 percent. Perhaps on the jump page, in the 38th inch of the story in the New York Times, they might get around to quoting a professor of mathematics from MIT to the effect that, in fact, the president was right that two plus two still equals four. But for television and radio break news, the story would end at the polling result, which is bad news for the president.

Yes, I noticed that, too. In fact, the MSM basically just yawned at the President's remarks and their concensus opinion seemed to be that there was nothing new in them. I wondered if they had been listening to the same speech I listened to.
