Deaf Plan Silent Protest At Capitol

Tallahassee, Fl - Advocates for the state’s 3 million residents with hearing loss rally at the Capitol today to push for state benefits. The Florida Council for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing plans to flood the Capitol entrance at 9:30 a.m. and hold a “silent protest” in the rotunda outside of the House and Senate chambers at 10 a.m.

You know, someday I've got to find a victim group I qualify to be in. Then I can fit in by complaining about my differences.

Hey Noah, Don't worry. You can "deaf"inately join the Deaf and hard of hearing protests now in preparation for your future! It is just a matter of time for most of us. The only difference between you and them right now, is that they already have a hearing loss. If you live long enough, you'll have it too. Then when you can no longer enjoy the company of your fellow man, the movies, or your music, you'll have something to complain about! Perhaps you should visit an audiologist and see how bad your hearing loss is right now. It creeps up on us, and for many of us, the loss begins before the age of 18. Cheers to the boom boxes, the walkmans and now the IPODS! All designed to keep many audiologists in business for a LONG time.

AND! We expect our government to pay for us to be deaf. Is this a new right that I have never heard of before??
