Today’s featured tech tip… How to change the default search engine in Chrome on Android If you have an Android phone it’s a pretty good bet that you use Chrome as your web browser since Chrome comes preinstalled on all Android devices. And if that’s the case, you’re probably also using Google as your default search engine since Chrome uses it by default. However, you aren’t stuck with Google if you’d prefer having a different search engine set as the default. Truth be told, you can easily change the default search engine in Chrome’s settings with just a few quick taps. Here’s how: 1 – Tap the Chrome icon to launch the app. 2 – Tap the three dots in the top-right corner of the screen. 3 – Tap Settings. 4 – Tap Search engine. 5 – Select the search engine you’d like to set as the default from the list. That’s all there is to it. From now on your device’s Chrome browser will automatically complete your searches using the search engine you just selected as the new default. But what if you use a third-party browser instead of Chrome? As luck would have it, you have the option of choosing a new default search engine for that browser as well. Simply open your browser’s Settings and look for the Search Engine option. If you have trouble finding the setting you’re looking for I’ll be happy to help.
