Worms are my friends, and I am a friend to worms.

How to respond to the double-bird.

No straight man should be in the same room with the world’s largest gummy worm

The Triple Bird leaves you vulnerable to the quick reaction where your opponent pulls both arms down like a lever while your fingers are interlaced so it’s advisable to only use it at a safe distance and to be ready for that counterattack

I hadn’t considered the potential for escalation to violence. I guess be careful who you’re sparring with.

I heard a scientist being interviewed on the local radio a few days ago and I am kicking myself for not writing down his name.
He wrote a book about how global warm periods are natural and great for humanity, always cause an age of prosperity and human achievement, and how during the last ice age, global CO2 levels hovered just above the minimum required for plant life (I think it was 150,000 ppm), and there’s no reason why during the next one it won’t dip below that level and kill most of the life on Earth.
He is strenuously opposed to the various state’s plans to sequester carbon.
He mentioned how cold periods were beastly for humans and all life on Earth and caused disease, famines, etc.
One of his chapters is titled something like ‘things are great and getting better all the time.’ I was driving so I wasn’t listening intently, but I think the book was available on his organization’s website.
I can’t find it for the life of me. All my Brave and DDG searches bring up the usual pap.

It’s a trick best used amongst friends who spend their time lovingly calling each other new and creative profanities and pranking each other

“Why Women Are Walking Around Without Pants This Winter”
That’s a real headline in the WSJ for a fashion article that, unsurprisingly, didn’t allow comments. It had a few pictures of a willowy model wearing outfits where the components each cost many multiples of what normal people pay for similar items. Toward the end of the article there was a quote that injected some reality into it:
” “I do like how it looks,” Paris stylist Ondine Azoulay says, “but not for real life.” When she styles models in pantsless looks for magazines, that’s a “fantasy,” she says. But out on the street, it’s weird. “Can you imagine if guys started walking around in Speedos?” ”
I’ll raise your guys walking around in speedos with the crowd at a big mall walking around pantsless

Have you tried searching the station’s website or the radio host’s site? Every now and then I’ll have a similar experience and hours or days later I remember the thing I was interested in and search that way. Sometimes it works or I’ll see the notion mentioned in another venue and get to it that way. If it fails then there’s always some other interesting idea to displace it that comes along.

The link if you’re able to get past the paywall

Other headlines from the same fashion writer:
To Take on Trump, E. Jean Carroll Wears Luxurious Layers
Stay-at-Home Girlfriends Are Having a Moment
Why Women Are Dressing Like 1950s Housewives
I’m sure the WSJ likes to include articles about culture to broaden its audience but these are ridiculous stories.

I just read an article about Nikki! staying in the race and how it’s “getting under Trump’s skin” in the WSJ.
You know well by now that the WSJ is all in on her candidacy but the commenters were all in agreement with the article’s premise. There were under 100 comments so it was probably just published. I’ll be curious if it remains skewed that way all day.

Yeah, I’d start with the radio station. Most keep the schedule up for a while often have podcast links for archived shows.
Comment by leoncaruthers on January 25, 2024 7:53 am
I was going to try to guess, but even going at it blind I see at least 6 talk radio stations that theoretically could be heard in your town, so I’d want more of a lead than just what I have.

If you remember the simple rule that women’s fashion is controlled by gay men it all makes sense.
Wakey wakey
Comment by Lumps on January 25, 2024 8:00 am
Yeah, I looked, it’s not in his podcast list. I emailed him, hopefully he replies.

Watching Rekeita’s show from yesterday. He’s walking through Abbot’s Declaration of Invasion and invoking the positive right to be made safe from invasion by the FedGov, a right in which Brandon’s .gov is repulsively derelict.
0 made a big deal about how the Constitution is a big bag of “negative rights”. Welp, there’s a great big fat positive one right there in Article 4.

x: It’s been proven that when you make it difficult for people in their lives, they lose their ideological bullshit and they get vaccinated.
This fuckin guy
Comment by Jay in Ames on January 25, 2024 8:45 am
Abbott could have declared that years ago. Allen West and Chad Prather ran for governor on this. Abbott sat on his hands, collected 70% of the vote in the primary, and cruised to a win.
We get the government we deserve.
Comment by Jay in Ames on January 25, 2024 8:47 am
the left loves negative rights, because you have to have a law for every single thing that way. lefties = lawyers. and that’s probably why the right loses all the time, because we fight about this in court.
Like wrestling a pig.

rule that women’s fashion is controlled by gay men

Easy to forget but very helpful to sort this out
Comment by leoncaruthers on January 25, 2024 8:51 am
The left hates the negative rights laid out in the Constitution, because it’s a big list of things the .gov may not do. Like stop you from peaceable assembly, speaking your mind, or owning guns.

think you got that mixed up, leon.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Negative_and_positive_rights
Negative rights may include civil and political rights such as freedom of speech, life, private property, freedom from violent crime, protection against being defrauded, freedom of religion, habeas corpus, a fair trial, and the right not to be enslaved by another.
Comment by Jay in Ames on January 25, 2024 8:56 am
yes global warming is good. Plants grow better, humans and animals thrive.
No wonder the left hates it. They want to kill everyone.
