Tesco has been forced to remove a pole-dancing kit from the toys and games section of its website after it was accused of "destroying children's innocence".
The Tesco Direct site advertises the kit with the words, "Unleash the sex kitten inside... simply extend the Peekaboo pole inside the tube, slip on the sexy tunes and away you go!
"Soon you'll be flaunting it to the world and earning a fortune in Peekaboo Dance Dollars".
The £49.97 kit comprises a chrome pole extendible to 8ft 6ins, a 'sexy dance garter' and a DVD demonstrating suggestive dance moves.
"This will be sold to four, five and six-year olds. This is a most dangerous toy that will contribute towards destroying children's innocence."

Oh please ! We had structural support poles in our basement when I was a kid and I used to swing around them. I turned out... come to think of it... huh.

Man Didn't Want A Woman With Good Taste

A suicide note in the pocket of a man who jumped off the Omni Royal Orleans Hotel late Tuesday led police to the grisly scene of his girlfriend's murder, where they found her charred head in a pot on the stove, her legs and feet baked in the oven and the rest of her dismembered body in trash bag in the refrigerator, according to police and the couple's landlord.
In the five-page note, Bowen claimed he strangled Hall in the bathtub, then dismembered her body before taking it in pieces to the kitchen, police said. An autopsy conducted today shows that Hall was in fact manually strangled, police said. It also appears that Hall's body was cut up after she died, police said.
Police found the victim's head burned beyond recognition in a pot on top of the stove, and her legs and feet in the same condition in pans inside the oven, police said.

Arkansas Man Allegedly Fires Crossbow At Motorist

A Little Rock man was arrested after he allegedly shot at a motorist with a crossbow after police say the motorist made an obscene gesture at the man.

First the guy with the sword, now this.

Steve Gilgenbach, a baseball pitcher for the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, said he cut in front of Dierks while trying to get onto Interstate 630. Police say Gilgenbach made an obscene gesture but Gilgenbach says he doesn't remember doing that. Gilgenback says Dierks fired the crossbow at him and broke his car window.

Gilgenback called police and Dierks was arrested. Police say they found a crossbow with a scope in his vehicle, four crossbow bolts, a cooler containing unopened beers and one opened can. Dierks registered .12 on a blood-alcohol test. The legal threshold is .08.

Judge Lenient With Traitor

Lynne Stewart arrived at her sentencing packed for prison. With medication, books and a pair of sweat pants, she was prepared to begin a stay that should have stretched for 30 years. Instead moron U.S. District Judge John G. Koeltl let the traitor who was found guilty of conspiracy to provide material support to terrorist organizations, making false statements and defrauding the government; someone whose actions were an egregious, flagrant abuse of her profession, abuse that amounted to material support to a terrorist group off with only a 28-month sentence. This idiot judge said there was ample evidence she had smuggled messages between her client, Sheik Omar Abdel-Rahman, and senior members of an Egyptian-based terrorist organization - messages he said could have had "potentially lethal consequences." But the totally clueless judge noted no one was harmed as a result. How the hell would he know that ? This is why we need to keep both houses of congress, so that more jerks like Judge John G. Koeltl don't get on the bench. Koeltl was nominated by William J. Clinton on April 26, 1994.

First Treason Case In Over 50 Years

A California-born convert to Islam ("The 'Religion' Of Peace"), accused of making a series of al Qaeda propaganda videos, became on Wednesday the first American charged with treason since the World War Two era, U.S. Justice Department officials said.

Fugitive Adam Gadahn, 28, who is believed to be in Pakistan, was accused of treason, which carries a maximum punishment of death, and providing material support to al Qaeda, they said.

According to the charges, Gadahn appeared in five videos broadcast between October 2004 and September 11, 2006, giving al Qaeda "aid and comfort ... with the intent to betray the United States."

It's about time someone was charged with treason. Hell, half the Demoncratic Party should at least be charged with sedition if not outright treason. Ok, more than half.

The FBI added him on Wednesday to its list of the most wanted terrorists and a U.S. State Department program offered up to a $1 million reward for information leading to his arrest.

Finally A Senator That Speaks The Truth On Global Warming

Despite the traditional mediaÂ’s failed attempt to dismiss the science I presented to counter global warming alarmism, the American people bypassed the tired old traditional media by watching CSPAN or clicking on the Drudge Report and reading the speech online.

The media have missed the big pieces of the puzzle when it comes to the EarthÂ’s temperatures and mankindÂ’s carbon dioxide (C02) emissions. It is very simplistic to feign horror and say the one degree Fahrenheit temperature increase during the 20th century means we are all doomed. First of all, the one degree Fahrenheit rise coincided with the greatest advancement of living standards, life expectancy, food production and human health in the history of our planet. So it is hard to argue that the global warming we experienced in the 20th century was somehow negative or part of a catastrophic trend.

Second, what the climate alarmists and their advocates in the media have continued to ignore is the fact that the Little Ice Age, which resulted in harsh winters which froze New York Harbor and caused untold deaths, ended about 1850. So trying to prove man-made global warming by comparing the well-known fact that today's temperatures are warmer than during the Little Ice Age is akin to comparing summer to winter to show a catastrophic temperature trend.

In addition, something that the media almost never addresses are the holes in the theory that C02 has been the driving force in global warming. Alarmists fail to adequately explain why temperatures began warming at the end of the Little Ice Age in about 1850, long before man-made CO2 emissions could have impacted the climate. Then about 1940, just as man-made CO2 emissions rose sharply, the temperatures began a decline that lasted until the 1970's, prompting the media and many scientists to fear a coming ice age.

Let me repeat, temperatures got colder after C02 emissions exploded. If C02 is the driving force of global climate change, why do so many in the media ignore the many skeptical scientists who cite these rather obvious inconvenient truths?

Beware Islamic Terrorist Squirrels !

An aggressive Islamic Terrorist Squirrel pounced on a 4-year-old boy in an attack last week in Cuesta Park in Mountain View, Calif.

The attack happened as the boy's mother unwrapped a muffin during a picnic.

"The infidel dared to unwrap a muffin during the holy month of Ramadan in public and in full view of us peaceful Muslim squirrels ! It is Allah's will that we attack those that would do insult to our peaceful religion ! Allah Akbar !" said Suhayb Majd Squirrel.

The attack is not the first one reported at the park.

Mountain View Community Services Director David Muela said that as many as six people have been bitten or scratched by radical extremist squirrels since May, and that the attacks have become more ferocious in the last month, which is the Muslim month of Ramadan. It is considered the most venerated, blessed and holiest month. Prayers, fasting, self-accountability and charity have special association with Ramadan.

"We, by the grace of Allah, are seeking to exact revenge on behalf of Islam and Muslims from you and your snacks ! Allah Akbar !" exclaimed Sheikh Khalid Squirrel.

In response to attacks, the city of Mountain View has announced it plans to start trapping and killing the terrorist tree squirrels.

Democrats were quick to protect the rights of the squirrels.

"The torture and other sadistic abuses of squirrels in the park have done immense damage already to America's reputation in the world, and the worst may be yet to come. Shamefully, we now learn that Saddam's torture chambers reopened under new management, park management." said Senator Edward Kennedy.

John Murtha said "80% of squirrels are strongly opposed to the presence of park workers ." and "The continued presence of park workers in the park is uniting the squirrels against us."

"What he has said has great wisdom," Pelosi said of her colleague on Wednesday. "While the president is digging a hole, Mr. Murtha is speaking from the light of day about the realities in the park, and so yes, I am supporting Mr. Murtha's proposal."

Over the next three weeks, park workers will set tube-like traps in the trees of Cuesta Park and euthanize captured squirrels "in a humane way," said David Muela, Mountain View's community services director.

Ironically, efforts to curb the behavior may have exacerbated the Peaceful Islamic Squirrels' aggressive tendencies, Muela said.

"We passed a city ordinance that required women to wear burkas in the park and to segregate female and male patrons to different areas of the park to avoid tensions with the peaceful Muslim squirrels." said Muela.

Increased park ranger patrols and flier distributions cautioning against feeding the animals frenzy might have further cut the squirrels' inhibitions, prompting them to act more assertively in their quest for jihad.

A recent NIE report that was leaked by the ever patriotic New York Times indicated that the strong response in the park was generating more terrorism. This includes an unusual alliance between the Islamic Terrorist Squirrels and the Islamic Terrorist Kittens.

The Presidential Address

Unfortunately the President still won't tell it like it is. Probably because even five years later Americans still aren't ready for the truth.

Since the horror of 9/11, we've learned a great deal about the enemy. We have learned that they are evil and kill without mercy -- but not without purpose. We have learned that they form a global network of extremists who are driven by a perverted vision of Islam -- a totalitarian ideology that hates freedom, rejects tolerance, and despises all dissent. And we have learned that their goal is to build a radical Islamic empire where women are prisoners in their homes, men are beaten for missing prayer meetings, and terrorists have a safe haven to plan and launch attacks on America and other civilized nations. The war against this enemy is more than a military conflict. It is the decisive ideological struggle of the 21st century, and the calling of our generation.

They are evil. They do kill without mercy. But they are not the extremists of Islam. Show me one country where the majority of the population is Muslim that is tolerant. Show me one country where the majority of the population is Muslim that does not despise all dissent. Show me one country where the majority of the population is Muslim that does not make women prisoners in their homes. This is not Muslim extremism, this is Islam. You might argue Turkey or Pakistan but they are fragile, easily tipped into the true ways of Islam. In both countries when you get away from the major cities they are the same as any other Muslim country.

Our nation is being tested in a way that we have not been since the start of the Cold War. We saw what a handful of our enemies can do with box-cutters and plane tickets. We hear their threats to launch even more terrible attacks on our people. And we know that if they were able to get their hands on weapons of mass destruction, they would use them against us. We face an enemy determined to bring death and suffering into our homes. America did not ask for this war, and every American wishes it were over. So do I. But the war is not over -- and it will not be over until either we or the extremists emerge victorious. If we do not defeat these enemies now, we will leave our children to face a Middle East overrun by terrorist states and radical dictators armed with nuclear weapons. We are in a war that will set the course for this new century -- and determine the destiny of millions across the world.

There is no doubt that they would use WMDs against us. They openly say they will. It will not be just the middle east overrun, Europe is fast becoming overrun today ! Burkas for medical personnel in England ? Come on ! This is Dhimmitude ! This is indeed a clash that will determine the destiny of millions across the world. Actually, the destiny of billions.

I'm often asked why we're in Iraq when Saddam Hussein was not responsible for the 9/11 attacks. The answer is that the regime of Saddam Hussein was a clear threat. My administration, the Congress, and the United Nations saw the threat -- and after 9/11, Saddam's regime posed a risk that the world could not afford to take. The world is safer because Saddam Hussein is no longer in power. And now the challenge is to help the Iraqi people build a democracy that fulfills the dreams of the nearly 12 million Iraqis who came out to vote in free elections last December.

The left openly state that the world and the Iraqis would be better off if we left Saddam in power. Wow. What a bunch of sickos. Saddam was a threat. He used WMDs in the past against Iran and his own people. He led us to believe he still had WMDs and refused to let UN inspectors prove he didn't have them. He funded terrorist organizations. Can the Iraqis build a successful Republic (not a democracy... there is a freaking difference) ? I don't see how. Their own religion tells them that such a thing is a sin. As for us pulling out ? We're still in Germany, Japan and Korea... WTF is so unacceptable about us staying in Iraq ?

We're training Iraqi troops so they can defend their nation. We're helping Iraq's unity government grow in strength and serve its people. We will not leave until this work is done. Whatever mistakes have been made in Iraq, the worst mistake would be to think that if we pulled out, the terrorists would leave us alone. They will not leave us alone. They will follow us. The safety of America depends on the outcome of the battle in the streets of Baghdad. Osama bin Laden calls this fight "the Third World War" -- and he says that victory for the terrorists in Iraq will mean America's "defeat and disgrace forever." If we yield Iraq to men like bin Laden, our enemies will be emboldened; they will gain a new safe haven; they will use Iraq's resources to fuel their extremist movement. We will not allow this to happen. America will stay in the fight. Iraq will be a free nation, and a strong ally in the war on terror.

So the Liberals and the Democratic Party say that Iraq has nothing to do with fighting terrorism, but bin Lameass urges his terrorists to fight in Iraq. Huh.

I held them in distrust and sometimes in disdain. These days I can't thank them enough. 911 made me reevaluate everything. Before that I was ignorant for the most part about Islam. I thought they worshipped the same God as us. I was somewhat sympathetic to some of their grievances. 911 made me want to understand what was in Islam that made it so easy for them to become "radical". Why did they hate us so much ? Why after the hijackers lived with us for so many months did they still want to kill, and did kill thousands of men women and children they didn't know ? Why kill people that had never done anything to them ? I could understand the pentagon being a target, but office buildings ? So I read the Koran, I studied their history. I learned what Islam is really about and why they hate us. I'm not tolerant of Muslims or their false religion or their false prophet anymore. They speak openly of their intentions, of their beliefs but if we non-believers dare repeat what they say we're Islamophobes. The five years since 911, well I was convinced after Jimmy Carter's administration that liberalism was the wrong path. I was still open to voting for a Democrat if he/she seemed like a good person and had good ideas. Lucille Pope's red oak tree has baffled tree experts, water specialists and nursery professionals.

The knotted, towering tree, more than 100 years old, has become the root of scrutiny in her East Side neighborhood. The tree has gurgled water from its trunk for the past three months.

Been a while

I can't believe it's been two months since I last posted. A lot's been going on in my personal life, left my job, my mom's been in the hospital, yadda yadda yadda. I think things have settled down a bit so I'll be back to posting soon.

Caution Entering Bird Dropping Area

Signs warning of bird droppings were posted along a stretch in downtown Orlando this week after cars, benches, sidewalks, plants and even people are hit and covered by the white bird waste.
The problem began when city workers removed cypress trees on "bird island" at Lake Eola in Orlando.
The trees had to be removed because the bird
droppings were polluting the water, according to the report.
Now, the birds have moved into the city and are covering anything and anyone between Lake Eola and Central Avenue with droppings.
"You have to brace yourself for the smell," downtown resident James Taylor said. "It is a really bad stench. It is disgusting, absolutely disgusting. It smells amost as bad as those hippie war protesters."
"I was walking the other day and got pooed on walking under these trees," Orlando resident Lisa Valentine said. "Somebody told me it was good luck."
"The white film cakes the light posts along Lake Eloa," Local 6 reporter Todd Jurkowski said. "It is on the sidewalks and on the plants."
Officials said Orlando city workers pressure wash a stretch of the sidewalk at least twice a week.
Signs with the warning, "Caution -- Entering Bird Dropping Area" were posted Tuesday.
"Don't sit on the benches, unless you are very brave," resident Jeff Miller said.
Some people don't let the bird droppings bother them and continue to eat lunch around the droppings.
"Based on what I saw on that car, I got to believe there is no (expletive) left in them," resident Alex Hartley said.

Federal law prohibits the bird nests in Orlando from being disturbed.

Global Warming Plumets Temperatures Across The Country

A storm system barreled across the Plains states on the last day of winter, dumping more than a foot of snow that stalled highway travelers Monday in South Dakota and Nebraska and causing flooding in Texas.

Hundreds of schools were closed Monday in Nebraska, Kansas, Colorado and South Dakota, and at least two deaths were blamed on the storm. Six-foot snowdrifts were reported in western South Dakota.

Dutch Consider Burqa Ban

If the Netherlands becomes the first European country to ban the burqa and other Muslim face veils this month, Hope says she'll resort to wearing a surgical mask to dress in accordance with her religious beliefs.

Someone should tell Hope there is nothing in the Koran requiring females to cover their faces.

"I'll wear one of those things they wore during the SARS epidemic if I have to," said the Dutch-born Muslim, one of about 50 women in the Netherlands who wear the head-to-toe burqa or the niqab, a face veil that conceals everything but the eyes.
Last December, parliament voted to forbid women from wearing the burqa or any Muslim face coverings in public, justifying the move in part as a security measure.

The burqa is very convenient for terrorists that wish to wear a disguise but want the disguise to be unquestioned.

"This is an enormous victory for traditional Dutch decency," said Geert Wilders, the populist member of parliament who first proposed the burqa ban, after hearing parliament had backed it.

"The burqa is hostile to women, and medieval. For a woman to walk around on the streets completely covered is an insult to everyone who believes in equal rights."

The burqa is also hostile towards western culture. The Muslims moved to the Netherlands but insist the Netherlands succumb to the Muslim culture. Good for the Netherlands for saying it doesn't work that way.

South Dakota Bans Most Abortions

Gov. Mike Rounds signed legislation Monday that would ban most abortions in South Dakota, a law he acknowledged would be tied up in court for years while the state challenges the 1973 U.S. Supreme Court decision that legalized abortion.

The bill would make it a crime for doctors to perform an abortion unless the procedure was necessary to save the woman's life. It would make no exception for cases of rape or incest.

The governor issued a written statement saying he expected a lengthy legal battle over the law, which, he said, would not take effect unless the U.S. Supreme Court upheld it.

"In the history of the world, the true test of a civilization is how well people treat the most vulnerable and most helpless in their society. The sponsors and supporters of this bill believe that abortion is wrong because unborn children are the most vulnerable and most helpless persons in our society. I agree with them," Rounds said in the statement.

Under the new law, doctors could get up to five years in prison for performing an illegal abortion.

Rounds noted that it was written to make sure existing restrictions would still be enforced during the legal battle. Current state law sets increasingly stringent restrictions on abortions as pregnancy progresses; after the 24th week, the procedure is allowed only to protect the woman's health and safety.

Five years for cold-blooded murder seems pretty light, but it's better than the Government sanctioned free-for-all slaughter we have now. Odd though that there doesn't seem to be any punishment for the "mother" that seeks out the murder of her own child... they're just punishing the "doctor".

Police To Protect Vandalized Home Of Fallen Soldier

Police posted an around-the-clock security watch at the home of an Indiana soldier killed last week in Iraq after it was vandalized and his family received disturbing phone calls.
The home of Sgt. Rickey Jones was egged Saturday, three days after Jones’ family learned the 21-year-old and three other soldiers had been killed by a roadside bomb north of Baghdad. His family also received phone calls in which the caller said: “I’m glad your son is dead.”

Scum. Pure scum.
Last Wednesday Missouri Governor Matt Blunt signed legislation banning protests at funerals for service members.

State Sen. Charlie Shields, of St. Joseph, sponsored the Spc. Edward Lee Myers' bill after protesters disrupted his funeral in December. Myers was killed in Iraq.
"The despicable protest at the funeral of Spc. Edward Myers clarified the need for this legislation. This law is named for Spc. Myers," Blunt said.
The law prohibits protests for one hour before and one hour after funerals.

Indiana should do the same. There is no reason to allow this kind of behavior.

Vatican To Muslims: Practice What You Preach

That seems to be the problem though... they do practice what they preach.

After backing calls by Muslims for respect for their religion in the Mohammad cartoons row, the Vatican is now urging Islamic countries to reciprocate by showing more tolerance toward their Christian minorities.

Tolerance toward Christians ? They can't even show tolerance toward each other.

After criticizing both the cartoons and the violent protests in Muslim countries that followed, the Vatican this week linked the issue to its long-standing concern that the rights of other faiths are limited, sometimes severely, in Muslim countries.

They're just doing what the false prophet instructed them to do.

"If we tell our people they have no right to offend, we have to tell the others they have no right to destroy us," Cardinal Angelo Sodano, the Vatican's Secretary of State (prime minister), told journalists in Rome.
Vatican diplomats argue that limits on Christians in some Islamic countries are far harsher than restrictions in the West that Muslims decry, such as France's ban on headscarves in state schools.
Saudi Arabia bans all public expression of any non-Muslim religion and sometimes arrests Christians even for worshipping privately. Pakistan allows churches to operate but its Islamic laws effectively deprive Christians of many rights.

Some Islamic countries ? Other than Morocco... huh.

"Enough now with this turning the other cheek! It's our duty to protect ourselves," Monsignor Velasio De Paolis, secretary of the Vatican's supreme court, thundered in the daily La Stampa. Jesus told his followers to "turn the other cheek" when struck.

"Let's drop this diplomatic silence," said the rector of the Pontifical Lateran University. "We should put pressure on international organizations to make the societies and states in majority Muslim countries face up to their responsibilities."

Peaceful Sunnis Destroy Shiite Mosque

Insurgents (read Muslim Terrorists) posing as police destroyed the golden dome of one of Iraq's holiest Shiite shrines Wednesday, setting off an unprecedented spasm of sectarian violence. Angry crowds thronged the streets, militiamen attacked Sunni mosques, and at least 19 people were killed.

With the gleaming dome of the 1,200-year-old Askariya shrine reduced to rubble, some Shiites lashed out at the United States as partly to blame.

Muslims attack Muslims and we're somehow to blame ? Only followers of Islam could twist things like that.

President Bush pledged American help to restore the mosque after the bombing north of Baghdad, which dealt a severe blow to U.S. efforts to keep Iraq from falling deeper into sectarian violence.

"The terrorists in Iraq have again proven that they are enemies of all faiths and of all humanity," Bush said. "The world must stand united against them, and steadfast behind the people of Iraq."

British Prime Minister Tony Blair also condemned the bombing and pledged funds toward the shrine's reconstruction.

So they blow up their own shrines and we pick up the tab ? Huh ? (Yes I know about the schism, how some thugs murdered the designated successors of Mohammed (torment be upon him) to usurp the exalted leadership of Islam. Terminated Over Toilet Paper

A man has been arrested for fatally beating his roommate with a sledgehammer and a claw hammer because there was no toilet tissue in the home, authorities said.

Not just a sledgehammer, not just a claw hammer, but both.

Crow told investigators that the men were fighting over the weekend about the toilet tissue when Matthews pulled out a rifle. Crow said he then began beating Matthews with the sledgehammer and claw hammer, according to an affidavit.

Matthews was beaten so badly he had to be identified through his fingerprints, detectives said.

I'm speechless.

Peaceful Muslims Continue To Kill Over Cartoons

Deadly protests over cartoons of the Prophet Mohammad spread in Africa, killing 16 people in Nigeria on Saturday a day after claiming 11 lives in Libya.
Many of those who died in northern Nigeria were Christians, killed after a Muslim protest over the cartoons turned violent and rioters torched churches, shops and vehicles, police and local officials said.
It was the bloodiest protest so far over satirical cartoons of the Prophet, first published in a Danish newspaper, that Muslims regard as blasphemous.
"They went on the rampage, burning shops and churches of the Christians. The protesters killed the others. Some were even killed in the churches," said Joseph Hayab, north-west secretary of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).
The row over the cartoons also forced two ministers out of their jobs in Europe and the Middle East after 11 people died in the Libyan town of Benghazi in clashes on Friday between police and protesters who had tried to storm the Italian consulate.
Italian Reforms Minister Roberto Calderoli, who had the cartoons made into a T-shirt which he wore on television, resigned after he was widely blamed for the violence in Libya.
In Tripoli, the General People's Congress fired Interior Minister Nasser al-Mabrouk Abdallah and police chiefs in Benghazi, saying "disproportionate force" had been used.
The Congress hailed the dead as "martyrs" and declared Sunday a day of mourning across Libya.
As thousands of Muslims rallied in central London to keep up the cycle of cartoon protests around the world, there was fresh bloodshed in Pakistan when four people were wounded in gunfire at a demonstration in the central Punjab region.
Protests in Pakistan this week have resulted in at least five deaths, and on Friday it became the latest country where Denmark has decided to temporarily close its embassy. Denmark urged any Danes in Pakistan to leave as soon as possible.
In Nigeria, whose 140 million people are divided about equally between Christians and Muslims, 15 people died in the northeastern state of Borno and one died in the north-central state of Katsina, police spokesman Haz Iwendi said.
He said 11 churches had been torched in Borno and the army had been called in to state capital Maiduguri to impose order.
"The Muslim group came out to protest and the security forces tried to ensure it was peaceful, but there were some hoodlums in the crowd and somehow the security
forces shot one or two of them," said Hayab of CAN.
Thousands have been killed in Christian-Muslim clashes over the last five years in Nigeria. Twelve northern states, including Borno, introduced Islamic sharia law in 2000 which has contributed to the animosity between the two religions.

Wow. This is one peaceful "religion".
Did the Christians they killed have anything to do with the cartoons ? No. But their "divine prophet" told them to kill all non-believers anyway so this was just an excuse.

Peaceful Cleric Issues Reward For Murder

A Pakistani cleric announced on Friday a $1 million reward for whoever kills the cartoonist who drew the controversial Muhammad cartoons that sparked raging protests numbering in the thousands.

Prayer leader Mohammed Yousaf Qureshi in the northwestern Pakistan city of Peshawar announced the bounty for killing the cartoonist to about 1,000 people outside the Mohabat Khan Mosque, reported the Associated Press.

Mohabat ? Moonbat ? Coincidence ?

"This is a unanimous decision by all imams (prayer leaders) of Islam that whoever insults the prophet deserves to be killed and whoever will take this insulting man to his end, will get this prize," Qureshi said, according to AP.

The Muslim religious leader said that whoever kills the "cursed man" will get $1 million dollars from the association of the jewelers bazaar, one million rupees ($16,700) from Masjid Mohabat Khan and 500,000 rupees ($8,350) and a car from Jamia Ashrafia as a reward. No one from the association was available to confirm the offer to AP.

So he offers a reward he can't pay. Much like Mohammed (torment be upon him).

According to the news agency, Qureshi did not name any cartoonist in his announcement and he "did not appear aware that 12 different people have drawn the pictures."

Again like Mohammeded (torment be upon him) this guy doesn't know how to count.

The cartoons, which were first printed by the Danish newspaper, Jyllands-Posten, last September sparked massive protests worldwide in recent weeks after they were reprinted in European media and elsewhere. One of the cartoons depicts Muhammad wearing a turban shaped like a bomb with an ignited fuse. Muslims consider any depiction of Allah and their prophets to be blasphemy.

Actually Muslims themselves have depicted the false prophet's image themselves.

In a recently distributed prayer bulletin, the Religious Liberty Commission of the World Evangelical Alliance questioned the driving force behind the recent protests, noting that the 12 re-published cartoons of Muhammad are not the first time Islam's most revered prophet had been depicted.

"As this is not the first time Muhammad has appeared in art - even offensive cartoon art - why this uprising now?" questioned the RLC in its Feb. 15 Religious Liberty Bulletin. It noted that "there are multitudes of pictures of Muhammad in the world: in text books, history books, art works, and even cartoons."

I guess they just wanted to show us how peaceful and tolerant they are.

There was about 7,000 protestors in Rawalpindi, 5,000 in the southwestern city of Quetta and 5,000 in Karachi.

As violent protest continue to rage, the Denmark government has decided to temporarily close its embassy in Pakistan and advised its citizens to leave the country.

Denmark has already temporarily closed its embassies in Lebanon, Syria, Iran, and Indonesia following anti-Danish protests and threats against staff.

Sandi Dubowski, who won the Teddy gay and lesbian award in 2001 for his controversial doc "Trembling Before G-d," may cause an even bigger stir with "In the Name of Allah," which explores the struggles of homosexual Muslims.
Gay Indian Muslim helmer Parvez Sharma is directing the pic, which looks at gay, lesbian, and transgender Muslims across the Muslim and Western worlds.

"The world right now needs to understand Islam, and these are the most unlikely storytellers of Islam," Dubowski said, who is producing 'Allah.'

Sharma and Dubowski plan to submit the pic to all major festivals in the Muslim world as well as in the West, but if it's rejected, Dubowski said, "We'll find ways of screening it in every Muslim nation, even if it's underground."

This should go over well in the tolerant world of Islam....

A great piece, this time on the "Religion Of Peace" by the always biting Ann Coulter. Some my favorite lines from it:

As my regular readers know, I've long been skeptical of the "Religion of Peace" moniker for Muslims -- for at least 3,000 reasons right off the top of my head. I think the evidence is going my way this week.

But three cartoons made political points.
One showed Muhammad turning away suicide bombers from the gates of heaven, saying "Stop, stop -- we ran out of virgins!" -- which I believe was a commentary on Muslims' predilection for violence. In order to express their displeasure with the idea that Muslims are violent, thousands of Muslims around the world engaged in rioting, arson, mob savagery, flag-burning, murder and mayhem, among other peaceful acts of nonviolence.

Muslims are the only people who make feminists seem laid-back.

Peaceful Ahmadinejad: Israel 'will be removed'

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Saturday that the Palestinians and "other nations" will eventually remove Israel from the region.

The president said that the results of the parliamentary elections in Palestine and the victory of the Hamas group "clearly showed what the people really want."

That much I agree with him on. The peaceful Palestinians showed that they have no desire for peace.

While chanting "Death to America", "Death of Israel" and "Nuclear energy is our undisputable right", the crowd walked toward the Azadi (Freedom) Square in Tehran where Ahmadinejad held his annual speech.

"Those who insulted the prophet should know that you cannot obscure the sun with a handful of dust. The dust will just get back and blind your own eyes," he said.

The crowd replied to his remarks with "Death to Denmark" slogans.

That sounds pretty peaceful to me.

US To Strike Iran ?

Strategists at the Pentagon are drawing up plans for devastating bombing raids backed by submarine-launched ballistic missile attacks against Iran's nuclear sites as a "last resort" to block Teheran's efforts to develop an atomic bomb.

As they should.

The prospect of military action could put Washington at odds with Britain which fears that an attack would spark violence across the Middle East, reprisals in the West and may not cripple Teheran's nuclear programme. But the steady flow of disclosures about Iran's secret nuclear operations and the virulent anti-Israeli threats of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has prompted the fresh assessment of military options by Washington. The most likely strategy would involve aerial bombardment by long-distance B2 bombers, each armed with up to 40,000lb of precision weapons, including the latest bunker-busting devices. They would fly from bases in Missouri with mid-air refuelling.

Spark violence across the Middle East ? As opposed to all the non-violence across the Middle East we've all come to know and love ? Reprisals in the West ? As opposed to what we've all seen these past couple of decades ? They declared war on us and continue to openly say so. All options should be investigated and all contingencies should be planned for. The worst thing that could happen is for these barbarians to get nuclear weapons.

Iran was last weekend reported to the United Nations Security Council by the International Atomic Energy Agency for its banned nuclear activities. Teheran reacted by announcing that it would resume full-scale uranium enrichment - producing material that could arm nuclear devices.

Looks like they're leaving us little choice.

The White House says that it wants a diplomatic solution to the stand-off, but President George W Bush has refused to rule out military action and reaffirmed last weekend that Iran's nuclear ambitions "will not be tolerated".

Sen John McCain, the Republican front-runner to succeed Mr Bush in 2008, has advocated military strikes as a last resort. He said recently: "There is only one thing worse than the United States exercising a military option and that is a nuclear-armed Iran."

Senator Joe Lieberman, a Democrat, has made the same case and Mr Bush is expected to be faced by the decision within two years.

By then, Iran will be close to acquiring the knowledge to make an atomic bomb, although the construction will take longer. The President will not want to be seen as leaving the White House having allowed Iran's ayatollahs to go atomic.

Iran must be stopped.
